Dr. Charles DeLeeuw

Clinical Psychologist

Mindfulness Based Therapy.

Compassionate psychotherapy guided by what's most important to you.

My Approach

As a clinical psychologist (CA PSY 28003), my approach to therapy is rooted in mindfulness, compassion, and collaboration. I believe that therapy is a partnership where we work together to uncover what truly matters to you, navigate challenges, and build a life aligned with your values and goals.

Through mindfulness, I help clients cultivate awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, empowering them to respond to life’s challenges with clarity and intention. Compassion is at the heart of my practice—creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Together, we will explore what it means for you to live authentically, embracing your unique strengths and navigating barriers with courage and purpose.

My goal is to join you in your journey, offering guidance and encouragement as we uncover opportunities for growth and transformation. Whether you’re seeking to overcome struggles, find deeper meaning, or create more fulfilling relationships, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Services Provided

  • Individual Therapy

    Individual Therapy

Life is full of transitions, challenges, and unexpected turns. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, self-doubt, depression, grief, or major life changes, therapy offers a space for self-exploration and growth. My approach is rooted in mindfulness, self-compassion, and evidence-based techniques to help you build resilience, cultivate meaningful connections, and live in alignment with your values. Together, we will explore patterns that may be holding you back and develop tools to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

  • couples therapy

    Couples Therapy

Relationships can be both deeply fulfilling and incredibly challenging. In couples therapy, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and a skills-based approach to help partners navigate conflict, strengthen communication, and reconnect with what truly matters in their relationship. Rather than getting stuck in the same unhelpful patterns, we’ll work on developing emotional flexibility, understanding each other’s perspectives, and building practical tools to manage challenges with greater compassion and clarity. Whether you're facing a specific issue or simply want to improve your connection, therapy provides a supportive space to create a stronger, more meaningful partnership.

  • LGBT Affirming Therapy

    LGBT Affirming Therapy

Your identity, relationships, and experiences deserve to be honored and understood in a space that is fully affirming and supportive. Whether you’re exploring aspects of your identity, navigating relationships, dealing with societal pressures, or facing discrimination, therapy can be a transformative place for healing and self-acceptance. My approach is not only affirming but also deeply rooted in understanding the specific challenges and strengths of the LGBT community. You don’t have to navigate this alone—together, we can work toward greater self-confidence, empowerment, and connection.

  • Trauma Therapy

    Trauma Therapy

Trauma can leave lasting impacts on both the mind and body, making it difficult to feel safe, connected, or in control. Whether you’ve experienced a single traumatic event or ongoing distress, therapy can help you process and heal in a way that feels manageable and empowering. I work with individuals facing PTSD, complex trauma, and other stress-related challenges, using evidence-based approaches that integrate mindfulness and self-compassion. Together, we will create a space where you can safely explore your experiences, develop coping strategies, and move toward a sense of wholeness and resilience. Healing from trauma isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about reclaiming your present and building a future that feels meaningful to you.
